The usual and average coursework is a petty bore. Research, writing, and putting your own thoughts – these just doesn’t suit you. There’s a lot to deal in the real world, why hung yourself to words of no actual contribution to the world, only to you?
But marks are priority; to stay stuck in a course is a waste in an already expensive luxury you were unwittingly subjected to attend: higher education. How could you infer your interest when it reality your mind can only conjure the image of one subject: the course program of which you’re taking as major.
This litany doesn’t serve to make you move any further from that Drama essay. Perhaps you need some break, or someone to tell you that you can’t stick with what you want. Higher education does not cater to one-minded students; in fact, it seeks to holistically rear you. And just as it is with education, the same works for you’re so called ‘reality.’
Instead of resisting the urge to be dynamic, why not embrace it? You may have fallen in love with your major course, but why not take a mistress subject – Drama class perhaps, and write the love letter called Drama essay. Take careful note that your priority is the legal wife, your major thing.
Putting yourself in another world doesn’t automatically spell the betrayal of your major course. Rather, it is a test to your ability, as an advancing student, to:
manage your time
write something as new as that Drama Essay
learn to immerse and adapt the foreign language of another subject
At the end, doing something new involves your in-depth exploration of yourself – are you into this or that, what are your capabilities, hobbies, interests? Education isn’t just about careers, it’s about exploration too.
